Adaptation convenes the Tobacco Industry Product Stewardship Group to facilitate ongoing dialogue between the three tobacco companies and further develop the industry response to the issue of cigarette butt litter. As part of this, Adaptation undertook research into existing and emerging recycling and waste-to-energy opportunities for plastics in Australia and conducted a successful trial to recycle cigarette butts with other waste plastic.
